100% of the gift card face value amount goes to charity. When you buy the card, payment gateway fees plus a small $2 fee will be added to the face value amount of the card and charged to your payment method. You will be given a full breakdown of charges before the purchase is finalized.

You will receive a single receipt for all gift cards purchased for a single transaction. For each gift card purchased, you will receive a separate email when it is redeemed by the recipient.

In most cases, YES! Please consult your tax professional for further details. Although your gift card purchase is tax deductible, the gift card recipient will not be able to deduct the amount of the gift card when they donate the funds. They will typically be able to deduct donations in addition to the amount of the gift card, however. So if you send your friend a $20 gift card and they make a donation of $30 to their favorite charity, only the $10 amount (plus any fees) paid by them in addition to the card you sent would likely be tax deductible.

Sorry, but no. The gift card is only valid for donating to any of the nearly 2 million donation opportunities available on the Generous website. If you don't see a particular nonprofit, school, church, or other organization on the site and would like to donate to them, please contact us.

No, they do not expire. We want the nearly 2 million worthy organizations on the Generous site to collect as many donations as possible. Generous is here to serve them and assist them in bettering the world.

Absolutely! You may donate the entire amount of the gift card to a single organization or to multiple organizations using our GivingBasket feature.
