NewsChannel 5 is honoring legendary Nashville pastor Reverend Enoch Fuzz with Nourish the Heart: a fundraiser to help feed our neighbors.

All the money goes to the healthy food delivery program run by Nashville General Hospital Foundation, a program that Reverend Fuzz helped found. Thanks to the Scripps Howard foundation and our community partners, we will match your gifts, doubling your money to help this program that feeds the most vulnerable in our community.

For decades, Reverend Enoch Fuzz has pastored the Corinthian Baptist Church in North Nashville. He has been a well-known community leader and activist, focusing on service to the most vulnerable in our community, and bringing people together in a spirit of problem-solving and reconciliation. His activism has included more than 15 years as a board member at Nashville General Hospital, where he is currently being treated for advanced lung cancer.

About

There is a time when every donor wants to make a critical difference in another person's life. That desire to step forward and offer funds, volunteer time or goods creates a singular opportunity to change someone's future for the better. Through Nashville General Hospital Foundation, that donor intent may be realized to help our patients and their families towards wellness. More than 40% of our patients arrive at our doors without resources to even afford their own healthcare, much less living expenses or healthy food to sustain disease self-management. Please take a moment to explore our giving and program pages to learn more about the difference you are invited to make.

In 1978, Nashville General Hospital at Meharry (NGHM) established the Friends in General charity as a 501(C) (3) public foundation to raise donations to support patient care services. In the formative years, Friends raised money to purchase baby blankets for newborns delivered at NGHM. In July of 2016, the Board voted to amend the name to Nashville General Hospital Foundation in support of the mission of Nashville General Hospital’s mission: To improve the health and wellness of Nashville by providing equitable access to coordinated patient-centered care, supporting tomorrow’s caregivers and translating science into clinical practice.
