With a child dying from hunger every 10 seconds in 2020, GlobalRise launched “Twiga’s Crusade” (Swahili for Giraffe) targeting the elimination of malnutrition. Working at an orphanage in western Uganda for 3 years, in a community - Kasese - where 50% of all kids are stunted, our team learned it is possible to overcome this complex challenge by giving tribes the tools they need to overcome disease and poverty.

GlobalRise is building an “opportunity platform”—a Drone Food System (think ‘uber in the sky’) managed with phones that can improve income, steer families to good nutrition, better soil practices and more. Over time the government will take over management and continue investing in the community. Our innovation was affirmed in a Rockefeller Foundation-sponsored global competition, placing 1 of 79 Semi-Finalists out of 1319 entries by universities, governments, NGOs and others worldwide.

A Drone Food System will link poor mountain farmers with formal markets, lifting millions of families to better health and livelihoods giving the region a fighting chance to eliminate stunting and providing hope!
